The Peace Camp for Youth Program is designed to:
- Thank and remember Korean War Veterans who served in Korea. When the Korean War broke out on June 25, 1950 brave young men and women from the 21 United Nations Allies answered the call under the United Nations banner. They came here to defend the Republic of Korea, a very small country they barely knew and to protect freedom and democracy with their last drop of their blood.
- Help form a New World Order and secure Peace on the Korean Peninsula in the 21st century, departing from the Cold war ideologies that dominated in the 20th Century. This year 2010 marks the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War.
- Assure you, the descendants of Korean War veterans that the firm belief in freedom and democracy and hope for Korea's future were not in vain; help better understand the global significance of the Korean War that became the watershed in the 20th century through this program.
- Strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation for the security of the Korean Peninsula and for World Peace in the 21st century by inheriting your ancestor's valor and sacrifice made at great risk to themselves.
